Nice stock Quick
It's made from British Std marine ply just so you know, an was meant to be the display model but thats alright there will be a new one sent to wara soon.
Look forward to seeing it finished an putting lead an copper down range.
Quick, it looks good to me and marine ply just means the laminations are glued together with a waterproof glue.
Get a short rail fitted to the bottom of the forestock so you can slide a bipod or a 3" wide plate in and you have FS, FO and F T/R covered. Looking at the photo, you might need to enlarge the barrel channel if you want to use a heavy barrel at some stage.
Good point. I am probably going to use the trigger thats on the rifle and then if I dont like it, I'll get a davies for it. I didnt mind the trigger much when I was shooting TR with this rifle.
Thats one thing I have thought about, with the 6.5x47L I had half or just over half of the wind wound onto the scope on the weekend as the 308 shooters did. The drift obviously isnt as bad due to the slippery bullets but I find shooting the 308 and learning to get my wind holds right helps out more when using the open gun. A 4 or 5 in FS seems to get a 5 or 6 in FO. Getting them in the middle in FS means more X rings for me when using the 6.5. I reckon its a sound idea mate.
Brocko- these are available at the WARA shop or get in touch with Courtz Day on here as he and his father make them. They have a variety of styles they can do and different timbers as well. I have a new one sitting at home waiting for final inletting and bedding when my next barrel arrives. They make a good stock!
