Target cameras, which one?

Post by Pommy Chris »

Ok electronic targets are where we are all heading, but for small clubs it is difficult due to costs. Target cam systems of course are no good for prize shoots etc, but looking at current technology they might be ok for club shoots, especially for those days when only a few shooters show up. On such days due to disabled shooters and older members I have spent most of the shoot at the butts which is no fun. Has anyone tested any of the newer setups? They promise a lot for only a few hundred bucks.. From what I am reading some have the last shot flashing and you can have new strings (new shooter) in a different color so they look like they really would work. Would any allow say three or four shooters to shoot, then maybe go to the buts to patch the target? If so I think they might work well for informal club shoots.
We cant compare to electronic target systems, but can any of these camera systems allow fun club practice shoots on our normal targets?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Chris
