Most likely from the soft flame, a doughy primer will discolour the powder

I've only ever had 1 misfire in several thousand rounds and that was with CCI BR2s and WW760 powder.
The powder near the flash hole had melted/clumped into a yellow mass.

At the time I thought it may have been caused by not using magnum primers with ball powder but I never had a reoccurrance so put it down to a dud primer.
Disappointing really as the BR2s are my most commonly used primers.

Every time I have a misfire with BR2’s, half the powder is that yellow when I dump it out.. My guess is it’s the primers fault.
