Canberra queens, who's going and what cal are you using?
Hi All,
I have just returned from "swanning around OS" and am looking forward to the ACT queens
At this stage I'm booked in for the queens only and will use my 284 for that
If I decide to shoot the lead up I'll probably use my 280AI
Wouldn't mind hearing what others are planning to do

Tim,
So sad to hear that you were "swanning around OS"
I think a 284 is a little overkill for Canberra, best leave it home.
We are all bringing 6mm's this year, as you need to abide by the power limits that have just been introduced. You probably missed the flyer because you were OS.
Nothing over 105gn's and running less than 3000 fps. Your 284 is just too much gun, sorry
And I think F Open is full now, entries closed a few days ago. There may be some chance you can shoot F Standard if you are lucky

Hey Mike
Thanks for the update on restrictions
I don't have a 6mm yet so I will have to get the hacksaw out and cut my 180 bergers in half before load up for the queens, either that or sneak in my super heavy(5.5lb) 257 Roberts? It's close to 6mm

I'm so sad, I'll have to leave him at home. He has to go to school

Otherwise I'd be in trouble again

Tim, just neck your 284 cases down to 6mm. That should allow you to compete. Just remember to drop the powder charge too, to get under the 3000 fps restriction

Re: Canberra queens, who's going and what cal are you using?
I will be at EagleHawk Tavern each night but haven't given any thought as to what I might shoot.
I already have 6 Dasher written on my 284 ammo boxes.
My newest 6.5 Gertrude barrel is using 243 WSSM cases, so it is easy to pass off as a 6mm.
If I can get out for a shot before Canberra to try my 308, I might use it for a change.

Hey Rod
If can also stay at Eagle hawk during the day, that might be helpfull to the rest of us.
Some might even be willing to through some sponsorship in for this venture

I only have enough cases for about 7-8 targets.
Anyway, this barrel only has a limited life span left so I am rationing its use.
