Well actually Rod, most of the East Coast is closer (as the jet flies) to where the Barnards are made than to where a certain Australian action is made Very Happy . But seriously, all it will take is for an Inch to win a Queens in F-Class and if it stays around the current price level, it will get some of the market. Do you know of anyone building an F-Open rifle on it yet?

Well, I finished and sent a rifle to a guy that shoots in Victoria. It is setup to use in FS (308), but I think he has ideas of using it in FO at some stage (with the 12.05mm bolt face).

We are soon to be dropping the price here and the USA to compete with the Barnard direct. Our complete rifles will be a LOT cheaper than similar so called "custom" builds.

Strictly speaking, the INCH is a TR action, but could be used for FS/FO. For example, if someone can use a Millenium or RPA (i.e., 4 lug), they could easily use ours (3 lug). This is due to the bolt opening force being higher than a two lug, which we know is an issue. The opening force is no more than a Barnard.

We are aiming higher than a Queens at this point, but will accept that on the road to the WLRC in 2011.

Hi woody, Please keep us informed as to the progress ..If you ever get someone from the BR ranks tp purchase one i would be very interested in it from a pure accuracy viewpoint ..If it can group any better than the 2 lug actions then the downside of bolt lift and cost become secondary ..Good Luck..JR..Jeff Rogers[quote="Woody_rod"][quote]Well actually Rod, most of the East Coast is closer (as the jet flies) to where the Barnards are made than to where a certain Australian action is made Very Happy . Although a relative newcomer to the shooting game, I have serious doubts that ultimate accuracy comes from the action itself. Moreso from the whole package: barrel, chambering, bolt face squareness, bedding, action and stock stiffness etc etc.

In my game of TR, reading condtions and mental acuteness counts for probably 90% of the outcome IMHO. BR seems to have a higher emphasis on equipment, whether this means anything or not, I am not really sure.

I am not sure what you mean about cost. We (and Barnard) are cheaper than most two lug actions made for BR style shooting (like most of the units mentioned in Ravens post). This is unless you are talking about a Remington 700, which are not in the same league as the INCH or Barnard, unless of course you spend a lot of time and money on them to get somewhere. The Savage is a good value for money action and should be considered also.

I will not post updates here, as I dont want to hijack the thread, and it is against posting guidelines. I will do so in the CG INCH thread on the suppliers thread.

Woody ,Your right is saying it's a combination that wins ,but i my experience it really comes down to "Bullets and Barrels".. That said ,if one part is not right then all the others don't matter squat ,this includes the action..Your also correct that BR has a higher priority on equipment ,which is why i asked to hear if anybody were to try your creation in LRBR..When your trying to get it small ,the cost is a secondary consideration but fact is that a large percentage of the really small groups shot over the past 20 years have been shot with a busted A... Remington 700, that has been tweaked in some way.. As a matter of fact i have been helping a guy in our club now ,hasn't got a lot of dough. he bought a S/H Rem 700 LA for $300 and it only takes a coulpa hours to get it to a stage where it will shoot as good as is needed.. JR..Jeff Rogers..ps no reading of conditions and mental acuteness needed in LRBR , naturally!!
