Tuning the HBC BJD

Post by Billy308 »

Hi all,
Firstly I am a believer in barrel tuning for group size by means of a moving a weight on the end of the barrel. This is either with moving forward or back a foresight block or in recent times as they became legal in fullbore with a screwable weight tuner.
The level of fouling in the barrel will change this. In my experience barrel tuning is best done with at least 5 shots through from clean. And 10 if bore polish was used in addition to solvent/s.

My question is put to those who have purchased the new HBC 155 BJD and tested them.
Assuming that you have tuned previously with the SMK 155 or BJD 155.

Assuming all testing was done at 300m or beyond with a suitable rest.
1. Did you find your best result at the same velocity?
2. " " " " " " with the same powder and load?
3. Did you need to alter the tuner position greatly to achieve the desired result.

Good shooting,
Bill
