barnard spigot

Post by budget »

hi everybody,
i was wondering if any body out there has experimented with the depth of the locating spigot for the barnard target action . it seems that it could accommodate a cap screw that almost bottoms out but would this be any advantage on accuracy?

Quite detrimental actually, with no advantage at all. Which is why the mating surfaces on the action & spigot are squared to each other & locked up tight. This is to provide a recoil transfer point as close to bore line as possible with no flexing.
