Savage model 12F chambered in 6mm BR or 6.5 x 284. If you shop around you can get one for about the 1900 to 2000 mark. You will still have to buy a tapered rail for it, so all up should bring you within you alloted budget

Jerry,

As mentioned a couple of posts above, the Savage 12F would fit your needs, probably the 6mmBR version more because of its good barrel life. They have been available for around $1900 BUT, I fear you would need to find one in stock from prior to the crash in the $A to get one at that price now.

F class rifle

Post by Razer »

QLD Gun Exchange have {in Dec issue ad in SSAA mag} Savage F-Class rifle, 6.5x284,6mmBR,6oz trigger,30in barrel, 1in8 twist,$1829. Also FT/R in 308,$2009. I would not take too much time making up your mind, the way the price of anything from USA has gone up they might not be around long?? The price in Aus of Leupold scopes has gone through the roof!! Regards, Ray. PS.might pay to check first, could have gone up since ad was submitted to mag.
