The Early Days

You may not know this, but in the early days of Fullbore when it was more military orientated, and at the start of the Great War the Australian Government soon ran out of the trusty .303 rifles and ammo.

New recruits were trained in rifle shooting with a ‘broom handle’ and instructed to shout a ‘loud’ and ‘resounding’ BANG when pointing the broom handle at the target.

Our new recruits soon got the hang of this and impressive scores were being shot during training sessions.

The time came for our recruits to head off to the front lines and while concerned that all they had was a broom handle they were told the enemy were quite stupid and would not know the difference.

At the front you could hear loud “BANGS’ coming from all around as trusty broom handles were pointed in the enemies direction, the enemy were dropping to the ground with every well placed “bang” until this one lone enemy soldier just kept getting closer and closer.

The best broom handle marksmen were called for and with steady aim and the loudest of ‘BANGS’ they failed to stop the oncoming enemy soldier. Perplexed and disillusioned with their accuracy they waited for this advancing lone enemy soldier.

As the enemy soldier got closer and closer our boys on the line could hear the haunting and rumbling sounds being spoken by him ……… ‘Tank .. Tank .. Tank’

True Story.

Sam, you appear to be trying to assasinate Tony's character by indicating that he needs a phsyc and eats spider-man meals.

I have known Tony since he joined the movement and have found him be be sane and logical with all of his comments and to have a great knowledge of and enthusiasm for the sport.

Ease up a bit.
