Tim,

There's one or two BR shooters stateside who are playing with techniques to index barrels, determining the correct alignment by the result. One involves a threaded "collet" on the barrel that allows indexing to be achieved without the need to rechamber (can't recall if LH & RH threads are or aren't involved), another for press fit rimfire barrels using a coned chamber end instead of extractor slots. Incidentally, as far as indexing club shafts are concerned, it's probably similar to finding the spine on a fishing rod blank. That's achieved by pressing the tip against the ground, forming a bow between both hands, at which time the blank rotates until it's weakest side is uppermost.

G'day All,
you'll need an armour plated scope to withstand all the crap that's about to happen.
Me thinks I'd rather let the $800- barrel whip around rather than a $1000 plus scope.........
Food for thought.

G'day Ned, if your talking about the original post, the idea was not to mount the scope on the action, but mount it to the stock.

Sounds like it was an idea based on mis-information anyway.
