Alan, sometimes players don't think they've tried hard enough unless they get yellow carded, pulled over for speeding etc.

Based on some experiences over the last 24hrs, your moderating is still tops. Lets just say I never thought I'd see a forum Administrator & Moderator pull their own post. Consistency is the key for my mind to a moderator's role, forum members don't have a chance if expectations keep changing.

Strangely Ernie probably wouldn't mind how much reaction this topic has stirred up. On the mound he is all business, off the mound there is no shortage of character. I have no doubt Ernie is very humbled by the NRAA's recognition, as F-Class shooters should also be...IMHO.

Have a great day on the range...you lucky so-n-so!

I think its strange that someone has not actually posted the details of the notice from the NRAA on this match to sort out the confusion.
So here it is..........

1. That the NRAA include a competition similar to the Kaltenberg Cup for F Class beginning with the 2015 NRAA Queens.

2. The competition is held for F Standard, F Open and F/TR.

3. That the qualifying conditions be exactly the same as the Kaltenberg Cup with the following numbers selected to compete:-

(a) F Standard – the top 4 shooters in the preliminary Grand Championship.

(b) F Open – the top 4 shooters in the Preliminary Grand Championship.

(c) F/TR – the top 2 shooters in the Preliminary Grand Championship

(d) The above numbers may be varied from year to year as more experience is gained of numbers competing.

4. Shooters shall fire “Bisley Style” in pairs, in similar fashion to Target Rifle and shall fire alongside Target Rifle when the competition is held.

5. The scores from the competition shall be added to the scores from the Preliminary Grand Championship and decide the final order in the Grand Championship.

I think this point is confusing because the wording does not relate to current Match descriptions.

Firstly, which competition exactly are they referring to when they state "from the competition shall be". Is it the President's, the Queen's or the new Mace? Match numbers would also be good.

Secondly, the phrase "decide the final order in the Grand Championship." is not clear. The terms "final order" takes on different meaning depending how you interpret the description you give to Preliminary Grand Championship

Lastly, is the Preliminary Grand Championship = Matches 10 + Match 25, because essentially this is what Craig McGowan's score reflects in Match 26 from 2014? If Craig repeated his placing again in 2015 and won the Mace Match as well, does this then mean he would be the only one to receive a medal in F-Open?

We've all used a lot of different terms to describe Matches and Aggregates over the years, but it would a lot simpler if the statement was released using the official terms. The official change from Queen's to Championship is hard enough for some of us to keep up with without adding another Match and Aggregate calculation. :D

Aaron from my understanding the "Queens" is Match 24 and is the trophy that everyone coverts.

Match 25, known as the "Royal Kaltenberg Cup" is a separate match but is made up of those that did well in the "Queens", not sure if the "Presidents" has anything to do with it?

Looks like the "MACE" will be another highly prized badge.

I have never competed in the National event but hope to do so next August if I can get leave. It should be quite an experience and I would just be happy to be there.

The Royal Kaltenberg Cup (Match 25) is taken from the Top 20 from the Queens (Match 24) + Presidents (Match 10), otherwise the Top 20 from Match 24 would be exactly the same as the 20 shooters in the Royal Kaltenberg Cup, but from what I can extrapolate they are not the same? Unless of course you have the situation where shooters opt out of the Kaltenberg, in which case I don't see why a shooter finishing 21st would not be extended an invitation, maybe not?

Hi All,
From reading the posts here am I right to think:
Someone can turn up, shoot the "Queens" section only and win it then sit out the mace cup because the lead up wasn't shot prior?
I see discussion here has become a little heated and this post is not intended as a wind up!

LOL, Richard. That would be embarrassing to turn up and have no one there.
I was talking about the Queens that's on the 12th-16th August. Must have got my events mixed up. #-o
Just how many "Queens" are there in Queensland?

Or they just award you 0.0 for the lead up and add that to your Queens total to get a top 4/2, whichever they require.

If it doesn't get supported then the NRAA will just pull the Match out of the schedule and go back to the way it was.

Nothing to stop any of the other OPM's running a similar Match if they feel the numbers will support it.

For me it beats sitting down with nothing but TR shooter to watch shoot another range.

Hello people,
I am absolutely discussed with the tone of this discussion ,we have people pretending to be that stupid they cannot understand printed rules of a match, insulting the governing body of our movement and also slighting the name of one of our greatest members. How about taking a deep breath,go to the NRAA Website and quietly read what they say.Much as I would to be there in the Mace Match, probably I am past it,but I hope I am there to shake the hand of winners at the final.

Thank You. You do not have to apologise for some shooters that want to be arm chair shooters.
The Mace Cup is separate Trophy to the Grand Agg. or the Queens Agg.
The top 4 from F/S ,F/O & 2 F/TR scoers from Grand will be the one ho will shoot Bisley style in conjuntion with Kaltenberg Cup.
To the shooters that want to brakeaway from the Queen are You going to run it
I THINK NOT GO BACK TO YOUR ARM CHAIRS
More Events More Shooters
Happy Xmas & Happy New Year shooters
