Re the Copperhead Bullets 6mm 112 grain VLD Bullets, the 1:8 twist barrel would be marginal, they have shot great in 1:7.5 twist barrels, just sent some to a PRS shooter in the US to test and has given some good feedback “shot great measured very consistent”

Possibly a case of win at any "cost"
I just wanted to try them in a 6x47 Matt is building for me to shoot the longer ranges.
I will also want to try the Aussie ones now

It does make you scratch your head when you see bullets like the 183 SMK available in the states for AU$48/100?
I understand the importer and the retailer has to make a profit and they have to be shipped across but when they are selling for $1 per projectile here it does make you wonder who is getting the lions share.

But if you take the benefit of not having to point the likes of the 183 and their overall uniformity it does go a little way to ease the pain of shelling out your hard earned for them.

Getting back to the Copperheads, I had the chance to try out some 140g 6.5 bullets and they were very good. I was going to buy some but they were a bit steep at the time and have since noticed they have come down in price a fair bit. Once my current supply starts to dwindle I will get some more to have another play with.

It's got me stumped. In the US, dollar for dollar they're in the same ballpark as the ever reliable and match proven Bergers. Ship them to Australia to sell and wow...hell of a mark up. You have to wonder why since Bergers sell so well at the prices we get them for here - which are fair, not unreasonable. You'd think if Sierra took a similar approach, they'd sell more, or maybe we are such a small market it doesn't matter to them? Who knows...

It's the other way round here : the Sierras are not expensive but the Bergers are. Hence when Kiwi shooters come back from Oz they bring back as many Bergers as they can !

I suspect the reason for the 'disparities' is simply that some of the local importers/agents are more greedy than others ? That's life folks as you will see the same everywhere you look, across many products ......

Well I finally did get my hands on some of the 110g SMKs. They shoot very nicely in my 243AI with 1-7” twist bbl.
