Newbie calling :)

Hi guys new here been checking these forums and assorted other forums for a few months researching F class and have decided to join a club. ( havent shot since my SLR days in the forces )

As i live in the SE Melbourne suburbs, my first question is Lang Lang looks to be the closest range and club to me, is there an active group of F class shooters at Lang Lang ?

As you can see by my moniker im left handed and have been doing a bit of research on available left hand factory rifles, do not want to go the custom route till i have tried the sport for a while at least.

Short list of 2 rifles both savages, model 12 low profile varminter in 223 1 in 9 twist 26" barrel, would the 1 in 9 twist stabilise the 80gr bullets ? or the 10 vlp in 308 1 in 10 twist 24" barrel chuck the synthetic stock and put a laminated sleeman stock on it.

Im looking at these because i can turn them into a hunting rifle if and when i go the custom route.

Id prefer to go left bolt while right bolt wouldnt be bad for prone shooting, hunting with a right bolt would be awkward.

I ventured down to Lang Lang with a mate and met up with a great bunch of blokes, all of them welcomed us there and were friendly and put up with our newbie questions, both of us joined and saw another person join on the day also. ( think was a lapsed member)

We both had a try with the club rifle at 500 and both enjoyed it, my first shot i was a little close to the scope which was a bull anyway ive definitely found a new pastime.
