IMR 8208 XBR LOAD DATA FOR 223

Post by slzagrodnik »

I know that this powder is new for US shooters but not sure if it was released early to Australian shooters. I need help in developing a load for this powder in a barnard action with a 1-8 twist 27" Chanlynn barrel in a Mastin fclass laminated stock with Hornady 80 gr. AMAX and Sierra 80 gr. I have wolf SRM primers coming and 16# of this powder. Also have Win SR primers. Thanks for all of your help. Have a Merry Christmas. Steve

I dont think this IMR powder is made by Australia's ADI for Hodgdons. I checked ADI's powder equivalent chart and there is not a single reference to IMR 8208XBR.

The write up on 6mmbr.com makes it sound interesting, let us know how you get on!

Here's their data site:

http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

80 GR. SIE MK IMR IMR 8208 XBR .224" 2.550" 19.0 2456 44,400 PSI 21.0 2628 52,900 PSI

Looks like 21gr for max recommended load.

Burn rate quoted as a bit faster than H4895 (ADI 2206H):
