BRT - this is a bit of a surprise

The internet is a stupidity distribution system designed to replace facts with opinions, so that idiots don't have to think.

That's a great shame. A very well run business at the mercy of unreliable suppliers. I wish Stuart and Annie a long and enjoyable retirement.

That is a sad ending to a great company run by very good people, but very understandable.

They have done a great job supplying us for many years. Wish them all the best.

I see this as a bit of a disaster.
We now only have one supplier of Berger bullets in Australia, I suspect that this will lead to reduced volumes and higher prices.

Also all of the other items BRT stocked in the one place will be dispersed across a number of outlets and I have no faith that the inventories held will be as extensive nor in the volumes that BRT did.

Welcome to the world of the backorder and the long wait.
Pete

It's a huge loss to the sport.

Banks deciding on what's to be considered ethical industry and what is not.....the irony considering the billions they make at the expense of everyone else!

This is so sad, but happy for Stuart and Annie. BRT’s closure is a massive loss for us all

Interesting isn’t it. Banks consider BRT isn’t an ethical business but I bet they have no problem financing military industries whose products actually kill people every day whereas BRT ostensibly supplies recreational target shooters and hunters. Unbelievable….

Quite a place to take a “Moral Stand” from, not the leaders in ethical practices by a long shot.

Sadly it is becoming more common that banks are closing people's business accounts even on the basis of social media comments. I'm guessing things will only get worse when they go cashless and introduce CBDC.

And its the shooters who have themselves to blame... "Put all the eggs in one basket"...

BRT was able to buy bulk and obtain good pricing as a result.
I hear weekly "i ordered from BRT" on items we stock, and have priced cheaper than BRT... The old "can you get this item?" - yes i can, can have it next week.. - "i just ordered it from BRT" I am then told..

Why would anyone stock certain items? There is no loyalty to the local store or state assoc stores..

Well Marty, Don't you see this as an opportunity? Rather than criticise, but wait, there's not a Berger Bullet of any sort in stock at the VRA or do you have to order through the Q-store? and then add your 10%. A number of us are importing our own Projectiles because some States and Associations are not proactive. Something to think about.

As an NZ customer this is a big loss but not a surprise. I have also over the years referred other Kiwis their way so wouldn't be surprised if their NZ customer base is reasonable.

Sure, support local dealers but here we get raped. When I can puchase cheaper from BRT (plus they have stock) than I can here even with shipping added. Shipping turnaround has always been brilliant as well.

Interestingly before Stuart and Annie came on the scene I bought all my reloading stuff from Russ Haydon and wife Marsha in USA. They too, entered a well earned retirement. That was a loss, then BRT filled my gap.

Wish Stuart and Annie (and family) all the best.

Ahhhh The old no bergers...

We have plenty on order through the Q-store (official importer).. Seems they look after their own first.. Maybe approach Berger to import ourselves?.. mmm done that - they didn't want to play..

Not Proactive? Maybe come hang at the store and see just what goes on?
We have a million primers in stock (most personal import)
We buy entire shipments of hornady and Lapua.
Majority of our stock is cheaper than cleavers... (even our rifles)
10% on Q-store - Do we increase the cost of memberships etc to cover the freight? Or invest in a magic carpet to get them down?

Maybe it isn't state stores being proactive, maybe its more some shooters can't laterally work outside "The berger window" and develop loads with other projectiles.. Possibly easier to complain about what's not avail, than to work with what is...
