Forget Wind Flags And Weather Meters

How would you like a wind sensing system the size of a set of large binoculars and able to provide instant wind speed and direction at 3 ranges. The Racers Edge product for racing yachts has been added to my xmas wish list. It reads wind gates at 400, 700 and 1000 metres.

I figure with this little beauty sitting next to me on the mound (like a spotting scope) or on the bench giving constant wind speed and direction updates, I would be a hard to beat competitor. I'm gunna get my order in before Bruce Moulds beats me to it :lol:

Nice idea but it is huge, heavy (18kgs) and allegedly around the USD125k mark.

That is a lot of bullets.....

yeah brucey baby ill deffinatly be trying to make it to the bridge :lol:

i want to see how it goes out longer range because i havnt had time to do any more testing.
dont expect miricals though im still learning how to shoot the big rig!

There have been rifle scopes already developed using this "laser bending" technology and have been around for a few years now, but not to the general public, just the military. The information says that they are poor at reading wind deflection under 500 meters, OK to a 1000 and beyond.
There is currently a number of companies looking to bring out a civilian rifle scope version, but since i first heard of this some years back, nothing has shown up.
The technology they all use is as a range finder does, but have a built in sensor that reads the deflection of the returning beam.
Have a read of this link, it may change your view on this equipment for now. The next generation may be something to look forward to.
