F Open Jewell Trigger - HVR or BR??

Post by Seddo »

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone used a Jewell BR trigger for F Open?

Being a 1-3oz trigger it cant be used for F Class but for open its okay.

BR Trigger on my F Open gun 2 oz
HVR on my new 300 Win Mag tacticool set to 500g- my gun plummer and I decided 2 oz might be a wee light although I could have gone there if I wanted.
Love both...highly recommend.

Thanks Michael, I have a couple of HVR bottom safetys on the shelf for some big calibre rifles and they are nice to use. Never used a BR trigger but seeing as i am going to spend a bit of cash on a new open build i might as well have one too!

G'Day Seddo,
I've used both, a HVR Bottom safety in a Hall S as 6x47lapua and a BR in a Stolle 6x47lapua, no difference in my opinion.

Use what you've got, no point letting them gather dust and IF there is a difference, sticking to all the same style means the difference is insignificant.

If you do buy a BR trigger and dont like it, I've got first dibs

Seddo,
I have got a HVR with Bottom safety on a BAT action that's just gone from 6 x 47 Lap to 284 Win, and having never actually used it (the safety) on my main F Class rifle, I just got my gunsmith to remove the safety completely, and lighten it off a bit from the 8 Oz that it was originally set at. He got it back to a nice crisp 6 ozs, and as far as the safety is concerned, it's just like it never existed !

its sorted then, BR trigger all the way. No point paying extra for the HVR and then pulling the safety.
