Action for a barrel block rifle

Post by Tim N »

Dose anyone know if there's an action made specifically for a barrel block rifle? That is light weight not made to support a barrel.

Hi John,
That probably would have done it, next best would be an aluminium action I guess.

Tim
What caliber ???
The reason I ask is depending on length of the case one of the small BR actions would be ideal.

It can be any action really. I used a pierce. I wasnt comfortable hanging a big straight barrel on something with a small support area so mine was going to be a barrel block setup from day dot. If I was going to do it the conventional way I would have bought a barnard.

check out the kelbly "atlas" action in short or long version. beautiful action that is a Remington footprint and not oversized if your using a barrel block.
