Electronic scales
Looking at buying a set of electronic scales. What are people using, Sinclair have lyman, PACT, hornardy, mtm, rcbs.
Running some electric RCBS rangemaster scales I think they are called. The ones a bit smaller than the chargemaster. Have installed a filter on the power lead near the unit and also at the power point. With a clear box over it and paying attention to do everything repeatable and also calibrating it with 20 and 50 gram weights every 50 rounds it seems to stay accurate. I will always trickle the last half a grain or so and it consistently takes 4 granules of 2209 to go up 0.1gr
Lots of people have tried expensive scales that will show the weight of one kernel of powder but I dont know how its all progressed. Most rifles when tuned into a node will have some leeway either side of that charge and I know I can stay within the accuracy node in my rifle with the current scales I have.

G'day Ben,
If you want hassle free, accurate, fast, ( variable speed ) repeatable, no drift, zero maintenance ( and a few others I cannot bring to mind ) weighing, spend the extra now and purchase a set of A & D FX--120i electronics.
Repeatable accuracy to 0.02 gns ( 1 granule of powder )
Fraction of a second indication.
Re - Zreo at the press of a button.
Check them out.

Hey Bloke !
Another +1 for the A&D FX 120's.
Fast, superbly accurate and absolutely everything that Aaronraad told me they were. There is a whole thread on here somewhere that Aaron contributed quite a bit to, with links to YouTube videos that give a great explanation as to why they are so much more accurate than normal, cheaper digital scales.
Cry once, and be absolutely confident that your reloads are as accurate as they can possibly be.

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

I run an RCBS Chargemaster and am more than happy with it. Run through PS filter. Well clear of any fluro lights etc. Allow 1hr warm up and do frequent rezeroes and they are OK. You gets what you pay for - they are obviously not laboratory grade. At the back of my cupboard I still have my 40+ year old Ohaus which I do actually use for loading my Hornet. I was tempted to get some standalone electronic scales but the A&D FX 120's whilst v/nice are well outside my price range. Tempted by the Gempro 250s. Anyone on the forum using them? See lots of newbies buying el cheapo electronic scales to start their reloading careers and most end up mighty disappointed.
