Hodge, a lot of shooters are running the exact load that you mentioned in your post back in March 2013 re elevations.
Half a grain either side of your load then is what 99% of 284/ar2209 shooters are using here and in the US, with 2209.

Hodgie I will give you some good advice
The edge you are looking for is not done with grapevine reloading
Do your own testing (load development) and if you need advice on how that is done there are plenty of ppl that are willing to help.

Hey Hodgie, Raven/Richard is right in his info in the post above. You cannot find an EDGE by simply copying someone else's load data.

All you get when you use reloading manuals or loads from forums is a starting point. Having said that, getting a starting point is a huge advantage over guesstimating when you dont have any data at all.

The EDGE is really just fine tuning a load and there is plenty of info on how to do that out there in Google land and accurateshooter.com.

One thing to consider though when looking to find the perfect tune for your combination is perhaps a barrel tuner. These things are starting to make inroads into F-Open and have been used by TR and FS shooters for a long time. Its another tool to fine tune with, or as you term it, to find an edge.
