True flite

Post by Peterla »

Hi all,
I have been using Kriger barrels so far and been happy with them.
Now considering they seem to take for ever to get in I am looking at True flite as a replacement.

Anyone got any good or bad comments on this barrel manufacturer

Thanks

Peter

I've heard it said that they smell of lanolin if you overheat them.

I've got one of my 6x47L now. It's taken me around 350 rounds to find a load that it likes. But it shows promise now. To be honest I dunno if I would get another but that's more due to the stuff around with shipping the barrel to me. My gunsmith uses Kreigers and Bartleins and i will probably stay with them. I have two Kreigers and they are both hummers and have another 2 on the way to me.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't use them again but due to the stuff around I got I won't go outa my way as I can get a barrel within Australia easier.

I'll know more how this barrel performs after next fortnights OPM.

I have four Trueflight .308 barrels for my match rifle, three are 34" and one is 32". Very happy with them, the 32" is not throated as long as the 34" ones and I use it for F/class standard. All are 1-10 twist.
