Spent all saturday and a bit of sunday preparing for our district prize shoot. Two brand new kongsberg ET's will be there for use, and all other ET's had a refurbish and patch out to ensure they are in good working condition for the event.

WA shooters- we would love to see you on the firing line. Our ET's are in great working condition and we are very proactive in keeping them that way.

SWDRA prize shoot saturday 300, 400, 500, 600m, Sunday 700, 800, 900m all 10 shot matches.

2 divisions of FS 8 badges
FO - we require a minimum of 5 shooters and Ive worked hard to get 3 badges available. Please if you are an FO shooter, try to get down for it!

My apologies in advance as I'm at work. But I think you will get a good sized field of FO shooters.

300m of the Friday coolilup cup has been shot, with 500 and 600 to go this arvo. Courtz day is leading with his 7mm shehane early with a 60.3 in fickle and frustrating conditions. Brett Bunyan shot a 59.2 I think and a few others are in there and I think I'm coming last with 56.2 from the bastard barrel I have to deal with. I had decent vertical just lost a few wide an one just low and another I didn't follow through with. Hopefully the gun settles and it works ok at the next few ranges or it's getting retired and will pull out old trusty 260 improved for the longs. I think there's 5 or 6 open shooters in this event an expecting up to 10 for the sat/sun event. Will update scores during the afternoon.

After 500m

Courtney Day 60.3 60.8
Brad Yates 56.2 53.1
Bruce Piper 50.1 58.3
Linda Shehan 57.5 56.3
Bob Kinnear 57.3 58.5
Clint Ashworth 58.5 58.4

I adjusted my tuner a couple of clicks that range, it made a rather horrible vertical mess, with nothing to lose I moved it another three for the next range. See what happens I guess.

Coolilup cup has been run and won.

C Day 60.3 60.8 59.6. 179.17
B Yates 56.2 53.1 53.2 162.5
L Shehan 57.5 56.3 52.0 165.8
B Bunyan 58.2 60.6 59.3 177.11
B Piper 50.1 58.3 52.2 160.6
C Ashworth 58.5 58.4 57.2 173.11
B Kinnear 57.3 58.5 58.3 173.11

Courtney's 284 shehane is hammering he dropped his only shot at the last shot of the day. Mine is shocking and that barrel is getting a rechamber to try something else. Brett was fireforming cases to 260ai and shot very well. Tomorrow is a fresh start and my dasher is ready for a challenge.

Caliber list
Bob K 260ai and 7SAUM
Linda 308 f/tr
Clint 6br
Brett 260ai
Courtney 284 shehane
Bruce 308
Myself 6 dasher from tomorrow morning onwards.

Thanks for the updates Brad.
Sorry to hear that your 7mm barrel is refusing to cooperate. Bloody frustrating for you. Hopefully the 260 AI will improve your pain and give you something to smile about tomorrow.
Mr Day's Shehane certainly looks to be performing, just like its driver ! He should keep you all pretty honest on the way home to the Medals.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Tony, Im sorry to disappoint, but the 260 only comes out in special times, a local DRA isnt special enough without anything else as a backup. Its staying in the cupboard. The hummer dasher has got the nod and I will have a weekend of no recoil.

Yes the dasher is sweet. No recoil and so pleasantly accurate, though I found at 600m it got beat about by the fishtailing headwind a little too easily.

I will put up the scores for the 500 and 600m ranges tomorrow morning, but I dropped two at 500m though it shot so beautifully flat I didnt mind missing a couple of quick pickups, but at 600m I dropped 5 running back and forth from the 5 ring either side of target. Beautifully flat though considering the headwind and its switchy habits.

Brett Bunyan took the daily agg with 237pts after shooting a fantastic 60.7 at 600m in very trying conditions. He lept past myself, Rod Rees and Courtney Day. I belive Courtney and Rod tied for second on 235pts , Im not sure but think Courtz may have taken it on X count. I finished back on 233 courtesy of the 600m roasting, its a little way back to the rest of the field.

Ive had to pull out of tomorrow arvo's 900m for family reasons which leaves me out of the overall race. Ive screwed the 260 in to use the last of my tassie ammo at 800m and will enjoy some more dasher time at 700m while its calm in the morning.

The shoot overall is down on numbers this year, however F class is outnumbering TR shooters which is great to see for the sport.
