Which adjustable butt plate

I am after an adjustable butt plate which I can also adjust the butt plate up higher for my new toy with a wood laminate stock.
I need something which the butt plate can easily be removed so the gun will fit in my safe and gun case and for cleaning rod clearance.
Any recommendations?

John, I will see how much length I need to lose for my gun to fit in the safe and gun case, but I think I might need one with a length adjustment so I can reduce the length more for storage.

I will see if the 2" or so of this butt plate will be enough. Actually, you might know, what cases do you use for your long match rifles? Do you have to cut the top locker out of your safe? This new toy will have a 34" barrel with a tuner, so being able to lose some length might be handy.

Was a guy called Darren Angel shot smallbore the company for whom he worked at the time made my gun safe for me. It's designed for my match, smallbore, TR & F class rifles to be racked horizontal muzzle down a few degrees. It's around 1600 mm horizontal measurement.

My gun box which carries 2 rifles side by site with a top entry can only take a 32" barrel for my match rifle so if I use anything longer, I have to dismantle the bugger.

My 31.5" Bartlein screwed into a BAT Model M, glued to a McMillan F Class stock has got about 1/16" clearance in the Pelican Hardig Model 3300 hard case, (which I am pretty sure is the longest commonly available) and only if I remove the whole kick pad part of the adjustable butt. That's with the barrel parallel with the case sides
A 32" barrel definitely won't fit, even angling it at 45 degrees, unless I took the scope off.

and wishing mine (glued) was easily pulled apart for transport like Shiraz's. The 3300 Pelican is a bloody monster of a thing to drag around, compared to the shorter models. You need to carefully select your Rental cars !

John, could you post a photo of your custom built safe, with the doors open , so we can see how the rifles (or A rifle) sits ? I have been trying to dream up the perfect safe that can store rifles with longer barrels at just the right angle, ever since I started F Class, but have certainly never seen one. You just might be the luckiest rifleman in Qld by the sound of it.

My rifle with the long barrel and tuner hanging off it is also barrel blocked, so it is not as easy to just spin the barrel off like I usually do and separate it into a normal case.
It is likely I will need to be able to pull 3-4 inches out of the butt to get the rifle into gun cases and safes.

I have used McMillan 3 way adjustable butt plate assemblies.
The photo on their site does not show it side on, as the length adjustment is via a 7/8" round steel bar clamped inside the aluminium housing.
This round bar is approx 4" from memory. Loosen 2 screws and out comes the butt in about 4 seconds.

When you remove the recoil pad will it go back to the same position when re assembled or do you have to re set it?

Of course you could cobble something up with a length of threaded rod & lock nut, a matching connector sunk & glued into the butt & a plate welded on to carry a butt pad.

Yes the Caniffe butt assembly looks like what I am after. I could just fit a higher plate or relocate the existing one, it doesn't need to have too many heavy adjustments.
