Reloading Advice - New ADI 2208 lot

Hi Guys,
Im new to reloading and have worked up a load for my Angel 308 of 46.1gn of 2208.
I had previously been using a load of 45.5 but a check with a crono showed an ave of 2850fps and SD of 9.6.
So I was encouraged to look for a a little more velocity for the longer ranges.
I didn't have access to a crono since, and so to arrive at my current 46.1 I just worked up from 45.5 in .1 increments and using 5 shot groups at 100m and 300m.
Thing is, my current batch of powder is finished and I have just bought a new lot of 2208.
So my question is: Do I need to go right back and load test incrementally to again find the best group, or is it common practice to only load single rounds starting at 5% lower than (in my case) 46.1 to check incrementally for pressure signs and if alls well return to 46.1.
i.e. unless there is a factory error, batches of 2208 should be the same..??? (thats a big assumption, and why I'm asking here before starting my loading for Queens).
Clearly I'm very new to this so some advice on the best way forward would be appreciated.
cheers,
Gerard,
