I'm looking at the above scope to mount on my Barnard 7.62 to shoot optical and/or F class. I'm using a Sightron 8-32 lmoa at present - always at 32 power - to shoot "optical class" in a local comp., and can hold reasonably steady .
Has anyone had any experience with this scope yet? Looking at "Dot" size CTR2. No power range. Exit pupil diameter of 1.05mm. Reduced weight is a bonus. Etc, etc.
IMO this scope is suited to short range BR I think you would be limiting your sighting options going fixed power does this optical class shoot long range or only shorts?
Tend to agree with you being a BR scope - have a Sightron 24x44 as well. Looking for alternatives.
Have been shooting "optical" for some years. Prefer shooting off the elbows in lieu of bipod as in F class. Cannot see thru appertures as in t/r.
Looks like Optical class is dead.
I'm looking at shooting F class off the elbows next year - a little more challenging however. As I read the SSR's, I can shoot F class with a jacket and sling.
Will probably look at Sightron 10-50x60, the Vortex Golden Eagle or N/F 15-55 for more power range.
The NF 15-55 is the current optical benchmark in target scopes and has been since introduction of the Gen II. Their available reticles leave a bit to be desired but the FCR is workable.
I might add that i make this statement after using a Golden Eagle last weekend and a Burris 8-40 FFP the weekend before.
