Memory Tester - ADI 144gn projectiles

Post by Bart »

Can anyone remember what we used to pay for the ADI 144gn projectiles purchased through the State Associations back when we were using them.

No.

However I still have some. Must be worth a mint now, as they should be collectors items :P

I remember paying $0.15 cents in the early 90’s.

Last lot I purchased ( batch 17 no crimping groove ) cost around 18c. At that time 18c was considered expensive so moves were made to allow other projectiles , which were about the same price but infinitely better.
Some ADI projectiles ( batch 14 for example) were exceptionally good but quality generally was hit and miss. I can remember returning 6000 projectiles as being unsatisfactory. Testing by some of the best TR shooters of that time proved they grouped out to the 3 ring at 300 yards.
Initially the VRA would not take them back but some gentle persuasion via consumer affairs changed their mind. Would you believe they then sent me an account for the 200 odd that we used in testing??? True.

Just out of interest, how long ago were the 144 the only bullet being used?

Scott,
We stopped using ADI projectiles in 1997 - that was when the Sierra 2155 was approved.
