Re: 6 br additional calibre

With the current bullets available to 308 shooters IMO the 223 isn't competitive past 700. There will be the odd barrel/shooter combo that does well but it's the exception not the rule. The 223 with heavy bullets can be a PITA to get to work at the longer ranges. I shot a 223 in FS for a while and b...

Re: Barnard barrel

Yes any action can be “prefitted”. Do. I recommend it, yes and no. Customers that I have had their action here and have the required measurements written down (not always the case), I will supply a “prefit” but action I haven’t had, I prefer not to.

Re: 6 br additional calibre

I think it’s a terrible idea to start “discussions” to get people talking about change, much better idea to do nothing and continue on with the sports slow death !!!

Re: Importing Rifle Stocks?

I kind of like the Cerus stocks from the US but the exchange rate would make them pretty expensive. I would like a butt stock like on a F open rifle but the beaver tail type long forarm as it would be a Fstd of a bipod rifle. In a nice wood the lamination's like the Cerus seem to be a good compromi...

Re: Barnard 223

Provided the person fitting the barrel does the job correctly you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: Which Barnard aftermarket trigger?

I have been using the new trigger made by Marty Lobert, the "16 South" trigger. Though I don't like super light triggers on my 7MMs, the Barnard triggers can get a little "mushy" once they start to wear and round off the edges, which they seem to do after a lot of use. When the ...

Re: Prize meetings

Trevor
I know your previous post was hypothetical but if the VRA ever went down the path of ET’s I’d strongly suggest you keep all the targets together and have a single maintenance schedule carried out by a small team. Having different groups maintaining targets doesn’t work.

Re: Barrel Change

IMO anti seize isn't required in this type of application. A EP style grease is a much better option. I use either "moly grease" or white lithium grease.

Re: Prize meetings

Hopefully the ET manufacturers will develop a good user interface for it. Given that both silver mountain and shot marker are Canadian and Bisley style is the predominate style in Canada they should have that sorted. Not me, must have been Alan. IMO neither of these systems are good enough for OPM'...

Re: Prize meetings

As someone at the forefront of the push for delays, I am disappointed that ICFRA has specified a 10 second delay. In my opinion that is far too much - around 5 seconds is enough to prevent the sort of "machine gunning" that is bad for the sport. In relation to how the delay is implemented...

Re: Prize meetings

Why don’t they just get there own hexta targets Or how about they stick with proper targets. There are enough OPMs with ETs if that is what you want to shoot on. Surely a few OPMs can stick with manual targets and long ranges to excite some of the more ambitious shooters. Rod I don't really care ei...
