Re: Ammo storage in the tropics

I have lived in Cairns since 1942. Been shooting since I was about 15. Started target shooting 1993. I store my powder, primers and loaded ammo in a locked timber cupboard in my gun room. Have had loaded ammo stored for about 5 years and have had no problems. Keeping firearms wiped with a lanolin im...

Re: 284 Win Tikka F Open Build

He is not on the forum. I know C.R.M. did the barrel fit ect.. because he borrowed my reamer for them to use. If I see him to-morrow I will ask for more info.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: 284 Win Tikka F Open Build

A shooter in Cairns has a Tikka built .284W and it shoots very well. He keeps the Barnard ect. shooters on their toes.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: another discipline

I do very well with my R.C.B.S. M1000 beam scales. Periodically check powder loads on a friends super doper scales and they are within a kernel of each other which means jack s---.
Cannot compare an Annie 2013 "factory rifle" with a Brno mod.2 also a "factory rifle.

Trevor.

Re: another discipline

Rimfire F class would still be expensive. Top R/F rifles $3000 to 4000 dollars. Still have to put a scope on top. Ammunition $20 to $40 for a box of 50. No cheaper than C/F.

Trevor.

Re: Best bore scope

Hi Pete, I know I could do that, but that means partially taking the rifle apart and re assembly. Cleaning is bad enough without adding another chore. I was only stating that those changes would make the reasonably good product better. When I get time I will build myself a new cleaning cradle in whi...

Re: Best bore scope

I received my Teslong the other day. Works reasonably well. The light at the lowest level is still to bright, as there is a considerable reflection which makes it hard to see clearly. The other problem is that it cannot be rotated so you only see the one section of bore as it is moved along, not lik...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

I bought the action new from Phil Mastin and have not changed the spring. Maybe they have changed their spring material since then. However my PC10 still works fine.

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

One of my Barnards is a'98 model. Bolt has always been de-cocked at end of days shooting. Always goes bang with all brands of primers. Do not know how many shots fired.

Re: WTB

Hi Tim,
If you are shooting Sunday bring them with you to the range. Will do a shoulder measurement and if suitable will take them.

Trevor.

Re: 6 br additional calibre

You do not need a Seb Neo Farley or any other joy stick front rest. There is nothing wrong with a screw windage adjustable rest. Much cheaper and not hard to make yourself if you have a bit of gear. There are probably quite a few laying around not being used as they were all that the short range B/R...
