Re: Bore scope

My stepson's .223 looks the same. Shoots reasonable, but amazingly, not a lot of copper and cleans up rather well with Eliminator. It must be the way Savage produce all barrels. Years ago a number of M.A.B. rimfire barrels came t N.Q. at the same time. All looked horrible internally, but they shot w...

Dies

Hi All,
Does anyone have a set of standard .223 dies not wanted. Do not need comp. dies as only loading for a hunting rifle. My step grandson wants to get into reloading.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: Ogive to base measurement.

Another measurement to watch is base to position seating stem sits on projectile. I have found up to .008 difference. As this position is what controls seating depth, I figure it is important. Especially those who load close to lands. I do not think it is as important if loading with reasonable jump...

Re: Federal 210 GM primers

I found this a year or so ago and mentioned it here. As there was only the odd yellow one I did not use them. Put them in a separate tray, and one day I will load them to use up. As they will all be the same, should not cause any variation shot to shot if the different colors do have an effect. Cheer...

Re: Start loads for 6x47 Lapua

In my 6.5 x 47 ,30" 8T. 37.5 of 2208 behind 130 Berger V.L.D. works well. velocity unknown as I am not worried to much about velocity.
It is results on paper that matters.

Re: Can case volume be inferred by its weight ?

To what extent does these small variations in case volume have on muzzle velocity? Can the best of our shooters read the total range conditions for every shot in the competition to the extent, that a few f.p.s. difference in velocity affects their score. I personally do not think so. But I may be wr...

Re: Recently discovered

I had a gain twist in a .22R/F bench gun. Could not get it to shoot. Ditched it after around 1500 rounds and went back to conventional. It now seems as if ratchet barrels are the new fad in R/F. bench rest. Not for me, my conventional Maddco is shooting better than me.
Keep safe.

Re: ES / SD reduction strategies

Hi Chris,
All my rifles are cleaned as soon as I can after shooting. I like to clean them while hot as they clean up quicker.
Cheers,
Trevor.
