Telescopic Sight Poll
There has been a request to run a poll on telescopic sights. This is mainly for the benefit of shooters who are looking at purchasing a scope. You're welcome to leave comments about what your favourite scope is and why. All scope disciplines can participate.
To cater for those of you who say too many scopes is not enough (apologies to Roy and HG), you can choose up to 4.
And also you can change your choices, so to some extent, the data will stay current.
If you have a suggestion about another brand that you think is widely used enough to qualify, say so and after a week or so we may add a couple more (there is a maximum of 10 choices in the poll).

F/Std and F/Open - March High Master 10-60x56 and Nightforce Comp 5-55. Both excellent scopes.
Sporting/Hunter & PSR - Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24 and ZeroTech Trace 4.5-27. Too early to tell but both nice and clear at 500yd and producing pretty good results.

Re: Telescopic Sight Poll
Started F Open (with realistically a SH rifle) with a Meopta Optika 6 in 4.5-27x50.
Within a few months - a secondhand NF BR 12-42 was added to the rifle.
I still think the Meopta was clearer - but with the additional magnification - you can play with “aim off”.

Re: Telescopic Sight Poll
I was using a S&B 5-25 (FFP) last time I was shooting F class.
Won an NT Queens and then the following Queens I gave AlanF a bit of a scare.
So, probably not the ideal scope but I has honoured to come second to AlanF when he came to play.

I remember it well Casey .
Yes S&B is possibly one of the two brands we could add. Other possibilities are Kahles, Weaver, Lynx. We'll wait until there's a few more mentions.

Quite a few people are using the Kahles these days I hear.

Currently running 3 x March HM 10-60x56. Absolutely love these scopes and worth every cent IMO. I love the resolution on these scopes and general functionality. Prior to the March I ran 2 x Vortex Golden Eagles, and for the money, I had no complaints at all about the performance - they tracked well and the glass while not the best in the business, is far from the worst and it was an easy scope to get behind.
And for Sporting Hunter I run a Vortex Razor AMG which is a brilliant little scope, great glass, turrets and easy to get behind.

These figures currently show Nightforce holds a 60% Market Share of survey responders.
Looks like a fairly convincing vote of confidence in thr brand.
What do you reckon?

Five NF BR’s for me! These scopes are in my opinion the Holden/Falcon of F-Class scopes.

I actually think BRs are a bit short-changed in this poll. They're very popular in F-Std and I suspect participation of F-Std shooters on this forum is not as high as F-Open and F/TR. Another brand that may be similarly affected is Leupold. You still see a lot them on F-Std rifles, particularly at club level.

Hi Alan
The BR are by far the most reliable NF scope for sure
But their weight precludes their use for F/TR
And there is a perceptible difference in optics between BR; NXS / SHV ( same glass); Comp and ATACR in that ascending order. The NX8 are similar to Comp in optic quality
I have not made a public post about scopes for about 4 years and shouldn’t now
For possibly every person who agrees with me there will be another ready to heartily disagree!
But I have used all these scopes quite a lot along with many other brands including S&B ; Swarovski and March along with assessing Burris and Vortex.
