Matt, I am planning to go to Raton. I had planned to be in USA around then for a family trip as it is ,so the trip has the blessing from the minister of catering and entertainment. As Alan, said, we would most likely send rests, bags, shooting mats, spare clothes, brass and some loading gear over by snail mail, then carry rifles only with us.
I think the last FCWC came up as a bit of s suprise for a few of us who didnt know about it until 3 months before the event. With plenty of time to plan and save for the trip, I hope we can get a bunch of good shooters to make up a team.
Caliber wise, for the event, I was thinking with the more stable, lighter winds, higher altitude and temps (therefore less dense air) that a tackdrive approach like the locals use with their 6mm-6.5mm rifles might be more beneficial than the sledgehammer approach needed at Bisley.
