Re: MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS ULTRA LONG RANGE CHALLENGE
You are on the money Mike.
The limits are in accordance with the SSR's for F Open.
Coona is a 7.62 Classification range. Any calibre up to 8mm. Energy is not to exceed 4182 ft-lbs or 5675 joules.
Cheers. Cliff.

REMINDER. It is 2 months to the ULRC at Coonabarabran. Time to start loading and book your accommodation.
If you want a week of challenging shooting tou can start with the Coonabarabran OPM on Saturday & Sunday 5th, 6th October then there is the practice afternoon on Monday 7th and then on 8, 9, & 10 is the Ultra Long Range Challenge for Match Rifle and F Class (F Open & FTR) over 1000, 1100, 1200 and 1500 yards.
Cheers. Cliff

Hey Cliff,
Any reason the event clashes with the NSW Queen’s- again?

Not far from the F class nationals either. Bit of a tight turn around.

Re: MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS ULTRA LONG RANGE CHALLENGE
Tim. We don't clash with the NSW Queens. We finish shooting at lunch time on the Thursday and the Queens starts on the Friday.
The timing of the ULRC was selected 4or5 years ago to follow on from the Coonabarabrab OPM. This is an ideal time as the range is slashed and prepared etc not to mention that the weather is relatively mild. Also none of the committee live in Coonabarabran so we have to consider the logistics of range preparation.
As i have said in several previous postings it was the NSWRA who moved the Queens into our time slot. Hence, if anything the Queens clashes with us.
I have no intention of finding another suitable date, mainly because there isn't one. We run the NSW Match Rifle and Long Range F Class Championships on the first weekend in May at Ungarie and we run the Ultra Long Range Challenge following on after the Coonabarabran OPM on the long weekend in October.
Re the National F Class Championships. It is unfortunate that the timing is extremely tight. I had intended in shooting in WA but I cannot do both. I know several people who wanted to do both but with work and family commitments some have decided on WA and others on Coona.
Cheers. Cliff

Re: MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS ULTRA LONG RANGE CHALLENGE
Tim,
Unfortunately this particular weekend was OK’d by the NRAA a few years ago (to hold the Nationals) without consultation with NSWRA, it has caused some angst over the past couple of years as NSWRA has tried to make it easier for junior shooters to attend the Queens as it now falls into the school holidays. We suggested the long range event be held in the week leading up to the Coona OPM (rather than after it)but this wasn’t possible.

Cliff and Matt,
Thanks for the replies- I wasn't intending to stir the pot (not too much anyway).
It's great there's so many events available.
I'll most likely do the NSW Queens again.
I'm working on my semi retirement which should see me able to travel to more events with the rest of you old coots
