Not F Class related, but wondering if anyone here is running one of the bigger 338s for long range / ELR shooting?
I am thinking of building something like a 338 Lap Imp or a 33XC. Just interested to hear from anyone that has gone this rout recently.
I did build a 338 Lap Imp over 20 years ago, but there were a lot less bullet options back then. I currently have a 338 Edge which is great fun, but just thinking about stepping up a bit more.

Re: Bigger 338s
I have a 300 Norma which is amazingly accurate
I reckon it will run with most 338 out to 1800M
More if one sets up throat for 198 Warner? 2200M transonic!
Mine got set up for 230 H and is excellent with 230 ATips
Same Vo the ATips were 2 moa higher than 230H at 1650M

Less recoil and way less muzzle blast than the 338
I had a couple of 338 Lap and really needs a ground sheet out in front maybe 15 to 20’?

Re: Bigger 338s
Thanks for your thoughts. If I do go ahead with this build, I will probably use a Barnard PL action. So it wouldnt be too difficult to to run a few barrels if I wanted to experiment a bit with calibres. I may even chamber up a fast twist 30 cal barrel as well. High likelihood I would go 300 Norma if I do decide to add a 30.
Still in conceptual stages, but I must say I am fine shooting the 338 edge prone, and ballistically its the same as a 338 Lap.
