News on primers buy up now. Been told

#1 Postby lee_enfield223 » Sun Dec 12, 2021 4:48 pm

I went to 3 gun shops in nsw and all three said there's only one shipment of
Primers coming in from the USA then nothing for three years
Now I am NOT trying to cause panic buying but I really hope that those
Shops are wrong. I went to one shop and they were asking $15 per
100 now that's ouch !!!!!! And a mate in the USA said that he was
Offered 1000 small rifle primers for 250 USD. Anyway if anyone else really
Knows from the importers what's happening please feel free to
Correct or confirm what I have been told. As we all really want
Information that's factual.

My local is charging $180 per brick for CCI BR2s...as for the supply issue, I know Sellior and Bellot won't be producing any in the near future as they only make primers when they're up to speed on ammo supply, and right now they can't make enough ammo. I'm hoping CCI and Federal will continue to be available.

We all have to start thinking 2 years supply on everything and when you see some thing like primers projectiles powder or cases you have to act even if you do not need ATM. On of our club members purchased 10000 SMP so as to last a few years, I am now shooting primers that are 8 years old they have been kept in an air tight container and shoot as good anything else.

wow $180 a brick for primers ouch I thought $125 was bad !!! anyway I am sure that lots of shops and private sellers will be upping their prices if we follow the trends in the USA, thanks for all the comment's. lucky I have about 3 to 4 years worth of everything except for adi powder that we are not allowed to keep too much of

Spoke to NIOA last week - they aren't even allowed to place an order with CCI at the moment due to the fact they can't make enough primers to satisfy factory ammo production.

And on the powder front, anyone wanting Alliant powder may have to wait until 2023 as there's nothing coming this year. At least ADI are churning out powder still.
