Mia Mia Rifle Range

#1 Postby DannyS » Wed Apr 25, 2012 3:38 pm

Can anyone give me some good directions to the Mia Mia rifle range? Will be in Lancefield in July and thought I might have a shot while I'm up that way. :?:

Hi Danny,
Kyneton RC is the only club using Mia Mia these days.
Best you contact Peter Pearce of Kyneton RC ( 03 54232376 ) as they do not shoot every Saturday.
The range is located 3 km along the Mia Mia / Derrinal road which branches left off the Mia Mia / Heathcote road opposite the Recreation Reserve at Mia Mia
From Lancefield take the Burke and Wills track to Mia Mia ( about 40 Km )

Thanks Barry, much appreciated. I did get some directions from Keith Cook, whilst at the Marsh, but they were pretty vague.

Found it Barry, did a google earth view of it, looks like they have 5 mounds, starting at 300 and finish at 700, with the last mound being on the left of the track, just near the gate.

Will give them a call before I go up.

Thanks again :D

Danny, The range actually goes to 900 which is just inside the fence adjacent to the gate.
Range is in a gully with hills both sides and at back of stop butt, can get windy but is honest. Used to enjoy shooting there but they no longer hold a PM due to lack of numbers.

The google earth view wasn't all that clear, obviously some mounds didn't show up. Even better if it goes back to 900. It's always good to visit a different range.
