Getting fed up with my F TR rifle getting knocked around in the car and with no way to transport it unconcealed I went on the hunt for a case. Fully prepared to spend top dollar on a Peli Case I found that they simply are not big enough. I eventually found this and with a 1305mm internal dimension it just fits. At half the price of a Peli I'm pretty happy with the result...

I run a 29 inch barrel, any longer and I would have no chance or making F TR weight. Total rifle length is 1300mm as I have a relatively long LOP.

Plano do a wheeled lockable, Lighter and cheaper than Pelican. Side by side I'd question any difference in quality.
Plano 108190
Where does that one come from James, and for how much?

Plano Cases look good, I hadn't found them. Mine is a Predator case, they are readily available but I found it on eBay for $260 with a discount code.

Same case as you except mines secondhand from the gunsmith, he got it from a gun shop up the rd here in the west.
Not the best pic but all I have on me. Only just fits.

How are the predator cases holding up? Looking at getting one very soon.

Weekly use with no issues takes the knocks of regular use basically without marking. The only thing I wish I had known about is the Plasticoat tip for foam inserts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhTB1HHmzGI not that I have tried it but my inserts are suffering and need some reinforcement.

Thanks ul1700. Will try the plasticoat or something to glue the prick n pluck together. A new solid foam insert would be the way to go in the long run by the looks of it.
Trevor, I have not seen a John Eland box. Is it custom made and what is the internal length?

John Eland from a club here in Vic made thousands until he retired then sold out and this one was his very last one. Inside measurements are 1430 x 230 x 230 solid, strong and fairly light.
