Well done Alan, John and Jim fantastic shooting by all three.
Also to Ben and Meichelle for yesterdays top efforts. Both have been knocking at the door a few times now and looks like just a matter of time.
All in all looks like a fantastically close competition and very good shooting.
Congratulations to all participants.

Congrats to John Peters for his F std A grade win, Alan for his F Open win and Jim Jeffreys for his TR A grade win.
The things I remember about the shoot were many but the main ones were not only Ben Ferreras 60.10, but also his extremely high X count over all.
Alan only dropping 6 points in THOSE conditions would be hard to top. (with a few 60.9s, should have cut those 6s)
Then there was "machine gun" Michelle Knudsens 5 60s in a row with her little 6mm BR giving the big 7mms a real scare.
I watched John Peters shoot an 89/90 at 800m with his 308 in conditions which were knocking a lot of F Open guns around.
These high score were not in light, gentle conditions either.
The level of performance among the top F std and F Open shooters at these shoots is realy getting very hard to top. They not only had their equipment extememly well sorted, but knew how to drive them consistantly as well as read the conditions.
While the shoot did not go as well as some previous ones for me, the lessons I learned far outweighed my disappointment in the slip in my scores. Anything less than A grade preparation (mental and equipment) wont bring in the bling these days.
Overall a top shoot, hope the range can stay in place as it has got to be one of the most picturesque ranges around.

Ditto to what Rod said about the standard of shooting and equipment. In F-Open I probably shot my best ever, and my gear went flawlessly, yet several shooters were within a few points of the lead at the last range. Things are getting very tough !
Looks like the NSWRA website results won't be up till tomorrow so here's a few more details, biased to F-Open of course (I should add that it would be good if an F-Std shooter with web access could do a similar blog at Queens shoots).

Congrats to John Peters on his win - he's been knocking on the door for some time and thoroughly deserved it.
For my part, thanks for the encouragement Dave and others. After about 12 months in the doldrums its good to be competitive again. I don't actually think my performance had deteriorated much - rather the general standard has improved markedly, and I had to improve in a multitude of areas to catch up.
Time for some shut-eye. However I expect the smile will be still there in the morning.
Alan

Congratulations to the winners.
It was an interesting shoot that's for sure. I shoot there week in and week out and have never seen conditions as random as the first two days so there was no local advantage to be had.
Almost everyone copped a hammering and I was generally shocked at how low the scores were in general.
It really made some of the great scores stand out that much more for the achievements they are.
Just hope the NSWRA can get the final results up. I still don't know my final finishing position

Certainly from the outside it appears as though this was one of the best contended Queens ever. Great scores in what sounds like very hard conditions.
I can feel the steely determination in Rods posting above and know he will come back strong for the next one (like Alan did here).
Also with that X count of Ben's his gear is obviously on fire.
All bodes well for a fantastic teams event in Mackay (and upcoming FCWC).
THERE SEEMS TO BE A BIT OF MOMENTUM BUILDING IN F OPEN. Good news all round.

Great work by all! You guy's and gal's must have had a great time. The scores were excellent. 240/240 must have been a real buzz. 60.10 isn't that bad either
Great to see your gear is performing well Alan, and well done on a great win.
Brilliant numbers in Open, lets hope we get similar numbers down in Bendigo in just a few months.
Cheers and safe travels.

Some fine shooting down there Ben! Maybe the lady scared you blokes, good to see a string of 60's from Michelle, with high X count as well.
Congrats to Alan, back to form I see. Any secrets?
Is Rod back to his bad habits, late nights, no sleep etc?
Congrats to the other winners.
John Peter's, did you use my old Musgrave
When we started shooting on the new target I wondered to myself how long it would be before we will be like TR with Queens winner's often not dropping a point. I reckon the time is getting closer.

Hey Ben hang onto that barrel i think you may have a keeper there......
Matt , I dont think the IT skills at NSWRA are good, but my compliments go to that little kid on the motorbike that was their runner. He definitely has the right stuff.
