1) is activated by sound of your shot
That may be a problem when your testing from benches like I do only 1 metre or so away from another shooter.
2) radar is only active for a fraction of a second (that in an email back to a poster from the makers)
Thats good and will save batteries!
3) pulses at 4000 times per second
Lets see what that means. Assume a velocity of 3000 fps or 1000yds/second. 100 yards will be covered by the bullet in 0.1 second and the sample rate of 4000/s would give a sample approximately every 0.25 yards. Thats pretty good resolution of a sample for approx every 8.64 inches.
4) has a beam divergence of 4 degrees
Needs to tested in close proximity to other shooters to see just how immune it is to projectiles from other shooters effecting it.
Interesting device I just wish they would boost its range out to 1000 yards for long range shooters like us. If it would be accurate out to 1000 yards it would prove to be invaluable, as not only velocities and stats but bullet BCs could be accurately calculated!

The manufacturer of these units could provide those of us that would like to know long range velocities with a means to do so by simply providing an input to use a second unit as a slave. This would enable a second unit setup up at say 1000 yards to be triggered remotely from the first unit.
The existing unit may already have an input socket of some sort the maker could adapt to an accessory trigger. When the first unit is triggered from the muzzle blast, (or whatever triggers it) the second unit could also be triggered for a window of time to sample the bullets velocity at 1000 yards.
Two units would then provide the opportunity for us to gather data on the bullets and calculate things like the bullet's BC. Two people could share their units and use in master/slave configuration and easily setup to capture both the muzzle to 100 yards and 900 to 1000 yards.
Someone just needs to suggest this to the manufacturer. They need to make a plug in accessory trigger and modify the firmware to provide a menu item for Slave Configuration!
