a guy called kenny wasserberger runs a 1 mile shoot in wyoming for black powder rifles.
they get some surprising results.
i would not be surprised to see very little difference between a good black powder breech loader fired by an experienced shooter, and an average smokeless target rifle and shooter at this range.

I,m keen for another go at 1500yds and 1 mile would be even better (as long as the weather plays fair)

Linda after team practice at 1500yds at Coonabarabran, I,ll take that tube sideways and not flinch.
As for calibers. I suspect shoots like Coonabarabran will make the big 7mms and 30 cals with 230gn bullets right at home.
