Re: Help with load recipe
A lot of people have tried the 183s, not many have succeeded with them - excluding a couple of the best in the country who have got them working well. I run a Shehane but use Berger 184s with 2213sc, also with Peterson brass. I'm running 54.7gr for 2810fps and my bullets are jumped 20 thou.

Are you running the 180 Sierras or 183s?
In my Shahane I ran 55.5gn of 2213sc behind 183 Sierras jammed between .005 and .010".
I did try 2209 in this particular barrel but I think it was a fast lot of powder and at 52.0gn and 2800fps it just started showing some mild pressure signs.
I have the 183s working well in a few barrels and all of current barrels like jam but I have heard some preferred some jump. When 183s first came out I had a particularly tight barrel which loved the 183s jumped .010".
284s normally love 2209 so maybe give it a go, it might work well with your barrel and powder lot. If you reach pressure signs just as it starts to reach a speed it likes, then maybe try 2213sc.

Cheers Rod,
183's
I shot a couple at 52gr @ 2900, showed slight pressure signs so will start at 50gr and work up to 2780- 2800 max
