New pimped stock

#1 Postby Brad Y » Tue Jan 15, 2013 1:27 pm

Showing a bit of national pride in this one. Still got some stickers being done for trimmings but this is all 2 pack and airbrushing. Stock hardware will go on this arvo- adjustable butt plate, polished trigger guard and polished aluminium strips on the fore end for the stock to ride on.

Hi Linda

Sadly no, Im in Albany this weekend at a fishing tournament and cant make it down two weeks in a row with the baby teething. License application still taking its precious time too.

If FO is going to run at Wurgabup, I might bring it out for a run though.

Sounds good then. Bolted all the metalwork up to the stock last night and took it in and put the rifle together today. Absolutely rapt with it. Come on WA police licensing and send me a nice letter saying go and collect your gun!

Brad, thats looks SENSATIONAL!

What brand of stock is that?

I'm currently building an FO stock from a hardwood plank. I'm not certain the timbers going to look special and a paint job with some airbrushing is on my mind.

I actually considered an Aussie flag but you beat me to it. I have some other ideas that I won't mention.

Please post a pic of the stock with its trimmings.

I LOVE IT \:D/

Well dennis you could call it one of my designs. I have two stocks I made myself out of a piece of structural hardwood beam. The wood isnt that flash so painting is needed. The first one I shaped with a 4" grinder and a 40 grit flap disc. Its finished in black gloss 2 pack and is on my 308 FS gun. This one was a copy of the first one with the fore end slightly different and done on a mates mill. He makes stocks so it was easy copying and shaping this one.

Will go back to the shop tomorrow and get a couple of good photos. I have to measure the barrel block for someone anyway so gives me a good excuse to go back and drool a bit more.
