A quick question for those that are running the 2014 model scope. ARE THEY ANY GOOD? The spec's look great!
I'm looking to buy one, however due to the nightmare problems with other models I'm concerned whether it will be a waste of my time and money?
Can anyone shed some light on what the changes were from the original model to the newer 2014 one?

Re: Nightforce Competition 15-55x52 scopes
The optics are fantastic ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
They changed the 5 minute turrets to 10 minute ones (big improvement) and introduced a minute reticle which is very fine and the hashes are only one side of the line for some reason??
If they can prove as reliable as the old BR then they will be on a winner.....Time will tell.

Mike,
I asked a similar question on the AccurateShooter forum :

I also had a couple of PMs following this thread, both firmly in favour of the NF over the March.
Dave,
Have you noticed that the eye relief has a relatively short "window". I haven't had the opportunity to look through one yet.

I have a 14 model.the turrets are much better with the 10 minutes and much clearer markings on the turret body. As said optics are great repeatability has been great. I have the .095 moa dot as I don't like mil hash reticles. AlanF yes they are very eye position sensitive I see it as a good thing though.

Re: Nightforce Competition 15-55x52 scopes
I recently purchased on of these in the DDR model. Great scope and fantastic optics. Turrets are repeatable and movements are spot on. On a good day you can see your holes at 600.
For their price I can firmly recommend getting one. I will be purchasing another.
I haven't shot with a March but I here they are on par at this stage. The upgrades from 2013 to 2014 are all from shooters input. NF tried to design this scope from the shooters perspective. Some direct comms with Bill Shehane steered me towards this scope.
Ask Wild Dog - he runs a few a them.

Only time will tell about reliability.
I have been am running an older (5 min) one with no problems for nearly a year.
IF they came out with thicker lines in their Graticule, and made a few minor Graticule changes, this is one of the best scopes in my opinion.
In poorer light, do not expect to be able to use the full magnification but if you are a magnification junkie, in good light it is usable.
They equal - or maybe even surpass - March for optical quality.
Longer eyerelief than NF BRs And more adjustment.
I worry about all of these super lightweight scopes to some extent.
The heavier NF BR is well proven for reliability and to me is almost a yardstick.
And built like a tank which explains its weight.
In comparison the Comp scope is more delicate. Some of its innards are thinner to save weight.

Hi All,
Thanks for your responses. Certainly the turret labeling is a great improvement, and the glass would be equivalent/similar to the March. As the scope is version 2014, it may have a few mod's to overcome any short comings of the original version.
I'll be looking out at the next couple of shoots to see if anyone is using one. Hopefully I can get a look down the range. Sounds like it will be christmas present 2014![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Mike.
