JUNIOR “F” CLASS Coaching Clinic, Canberra 2018
Two things prompted this idea. Firstly, it is probable that there will be a junior competition at the next World “F” class championships. Then the NSWRA moved the Queen’s Prize meeting to the school holidays. However, logistical complications rendered the Malabar Range impractical as a venue. We were able to secure the use of the Canberra Range for the three days leading up to the NSW Queen’s.
The proposal is for juniors aged 18 and under to participate in a State Team Match consisting of “F” open and “FTR”. Sunday 30th of September (pm) will be a meet and practice; Mon 1st Oct will be the main match, followed by an additional Match on Tuesday morning. This will then allow ample time to travel to Sydney for the Queens.
Our aim is to have a pool of “Team Ready” junior shooters available for the next “Worlds”, and to present a career path for them to pursue. NSW, Vic. and SA are already on board; however any juniors from other State Associations will be most welcome. While we are looking at three person teams, everyone who turns up will be fitted into a team and given coaching and shooting opportunity.
All shooting will be on manual targets, as is the case at world championships. The exercise will be run by the NSW “F” Class Assn at minimal cost. I am calling on any and all NSW shooters who have the time to please come along and help with this important initiative.
There will be a perpetual trophy and individual awards for the successful team members.

Great to see something happen for the juniors.
Any ideas on what the program will be? (Distances and shots)

These kids would have to be quite young now to be able to be U18 at the next Worlds ?

We will be there if the young fella is still keen.. His only 12 but has some shooting experience shot his first 3 ranges at 500 last weekend with his dasher.. 59.5 / 59.7 / 59.8x (proud moment )
My only concern is he gets bored easily and i think he finds the format slow between ranges, so im cautious to get him involved, just incase it puts him off target shooting..
So over the next few months his going to shoot our pennant matches, will just see what happens...
Well Done to all involved i think this is a great initiative!!!!
Cheers

Hi Guys
Just to confirm that ranges will be 600, 700 and 800, 15 shot matches on Monday and 1 15 shot on Tuesday at this stage. Sunday practise will be dependant upon who turns up but we would like to try to give everyone a shot over the 3 distances to confirm zeros, etc.
