Lee Factory Crimp Die

Post by chinga »

Hi
Just wondering if anyone is using the Lee Factory Crimp die on their reloads?
Does it change the velocity of your bullet? Does it help make the bullet velocity more consistent?
Just after some information if anyone has done testing with and without crimping.
Thanks in advance

I tried it once. I couldn’t see any appreciable difference.

That is exactly what Lee claims in his book.
I found it made no difference but that was on a straight walled case.

I think it would probably add another variable (mess with neck tension) in our type of shooting.

Best left to flat nosed cannulure grooved projectile shooters.
