I bought 3000, 184 Bergers for the then exhorbitant price of $0.85 each a few years ago and they have proven to be better than money in the bank. In another year I'll have made 100% on the investment, except I'm going to shoot them.
There is going top be an extra middle man in the mix now wanting their 20%, where previously we were buying direct from the importer.

This is getting quickly to a place where a space definitely exists for a local manufacturer of 7mm's.

I'm trying to work with a local guy on that last part...

The problems are going to be
1. getting enough to keep shooting.
2. Affordability
No retailer is going to be furiously cutting margins on such a low volume, in demand product as say 180 hybrids.
Associations will run at a minimum markup but they still have overheads.
Outside that, standard commercial markups will be the norm and available inventory will be more widely distributed, so Associations will have less stock and this will also put upwards pressure on their margins.

I haven't seen the doubling of prices mentioned, but like you I have seen the new price list.
It puts the likely in-store pricing of 180 hybrids just south of $1.50 each

At the moment we have little control over what happens and the pricing.

I will say I had been seriously considering switching as much of my hunting bullets from nosler over to Berger because of the price and consistency. Have a look at a box of say 150gr .308 hunting projectiles. . . .usually running around $60-$75 per box. . .. catch is they are only 50cnt boxes!! So paying $120-$150/100 for hunting bullets. Sounds like Berger may now no longer be the "cheap" option.
