NRAA membership?

I have been surfing the NRAA web site on details of membership requirements. The site seems short on details.

Can someone inform me if NRAA membership is required for interstate competition shooting or is it not required? At the moment I have full VRA membership and a UIN code number whatever that is?

Norm,

You won't have a problem. A large part of your VRA sub is passed on to the NRAA, so you are automatically affiliated with the NRAA, and your VRA membership card will get you into events run by other State/Territory Associations. This wouldn't be anything to do with Coonabarabran 1500yds would it

?

BTW, technically, no individual is a member of the NRAA. It has member associations e.g. VRA, NSWRA, QRA are members.

That is what I wanted to hear. Maybe they should make it a bit clearer on the NRAA web site.

Yes it may have something to do with that particular shoot. Got to get organised for such things and never too early to start.

I am heading up to Corryong this weekend for a bit of a go at 1200 if the weather is suitable. This will give me a bit of an idea of what I need to do to get up to speed with some of these events. .

SARA? Now you come to mention it I do recall that acronym being bandied about at a shoot I was at recently. Apparently they did quite well at whatever it is they do...

You've had a few shoots at 1000yd - at Corryong you'll see how much harder 1200 is. Then you have to imagine how much harder again 1500 is! BTW the same target is used from 700m right out to 1500yd in Match Rifle. Its only slightly more generous than the LR ICFRA one we use now.

Corryong is a beautiful spot - hope you enjoy the day.
