The new Barnard finally arrived.
I thought I'd take a photo of it before I disfigure it. Just to the left is the new case she is made to hold.

Couldn't get to work with the PC, but it works a treat on a touchscreen tablet!

Good one Rod, pick out the most important part of the project in the photo! The other critical item is back with the die maker.
The cartridge designer missed the chance to see the cartridge fired, so all the performace aspects are purely calculated estimates. I want to get it right before publishing anything.
It has inspired my 8mm design for later this year/early next year, which I hope to register under the same proprietary name used by the cartridge designer.

My measurements suggest a shortened 338 Lap case and and .270 (???) cal. Or maybe 7mm with a turned neck?

I think its a shortened 30-338 lapua, which is a good thing because the full case is a barrel burning monster

On the photo, the neck diameter measures approx 52% of the head diameter. The 338 Lap has a 0.578" head diameter. Calculating 52% of 0.578" is about 0.306". I'd expect a 30 cal to be at least .330" at the neck? If its not a 7mm then is it a 6.5mm before neck turning?

25/60 SMc based on a WSM case.
Hopefully I can do the late By Smalley justice.

Correct. The 1:8" barrel should be able to stabalise something long.
