FWIW I tried an offset fore-end arrangement early this year and had problems with the rifle going out of level on the front bag. I have since made 4 steel prong fore-ends, all with barrel located centrally. The most noticeable torque effect I've noticed has been with tight twist barrels that have fouled - not sure of the dynamics there.

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.
