Dave,

One of the M2s had an IR source don't forget.

But yes I agree it doesn't do anything to contradict your findings, or probably the manufacturers claims either. I think the fact that the measurement base of the MSV2 is significantly shorter than the others may be factor in these results.

From what people are saying, my current thoughts are that for portability and use in all light conditions, the MSV2 would be the way to go, but for the best accuracy for measuring velocity variation, then something with more separation between sensors is better.

I now think that the Oehler with 15ft screen separation would be worth investigating!

Alan, you have too much time on your hands :D

Its an interesting thread!

The MSV2 should read marginally higher than the other chronos as its true muzzle velocity, measured at the muzzle.

Norm, as you get to the pointy end of this sport you will encounter this more :D

I'm happy to see that Alan is distracted by this last minute activity. I think he should write an essay about it and perfect the system before he is allowed out of the house.

On another note Alan, have you finished reloading yet :-k What loads have you settled on, I think Norm wants to know :wink:

I must admit, I still have a few rounds to go myself.

Dual screens combined with their upper end controller set to measure within a claimed 0.05m/sec!
