Darlings Downs OPM 30 th Nov.

Post by plumbs7 »

I'm posting this on behalf of DDRC. From the flyer handed to me recently it's 300, 500, 600 yds 10 and 2 shots . Tr, f open , f standard a and b but as far as I know no Ftr .its at the Warwick Risdon range . Walk up start I think at 8:30 am . In open and standard there's 5 badges for each grade and also a chance to win a barrel and also a watch ( as far as I know)!
Contact is J Breeze!

Who's going?

Thanks for the heads up Graham. I have been looking for the flyer to come up on the qra website and am planning to be there for sure. Is there a contact number for Jim to enquire about camping?

Congrats to all ! Especially my other plumbing mate Scott m. Who came first in a grade .Emile D retired hurt with back pain. I hope my old mate makes it back to form and health! Conditions were light but very tricky . I could only work it out Half of the time ! Back home safe God Bless! Graham Sells.

Thanks Plumbs and all the guys and girls that put on a great day out at Warwick. It was a really fun day with lot of laughs and ribbing going on between the F Open shooters.

It was as usual great to catch up with Cameron and Julie. Cameron turned up with his beautiful looking 6mm. I did not get any pictures of it. Hope next week he could put up some pictures of it. As Julie and Cam where shooting 6mm's we expected 60's all the way......but the man is human. (Bottom Shooter)

Well done Craig, some fine shooting against some top competition.

However if I must say one thing, there was a 60.9 that went begging. If only you had cut that 6, and finished with six X's that would have been something :P

Keep up the good work =D>

I just had another look at that board, was that a 4 that I saw in the last shooter's list of shots  I think that the rifling must be letting go, time for a new barrel

Good on you Craig :)
I was a little slow out of the blocks this morning. A stumble now and then is good for ones ability to keep you guys amused

It was a good shoot and great shooting Craig. After a little hiccup at 500 you came back in style.

I see my score is wrong on the spread sheet, should be the same as Julie's 174.14  I just need to be in front of Kelvin that's all

I have to admit I got lucky.......all day. If it was not for my fellow teammate Lindsay Crombie winding the wrong way, twice, at 500 he would have won the day. Lindsay shot a 60.7 and a 60.8 at 600.

But unfortunately he made one of those #-o moments and it cost him 6 points on one range. He is going to be one to watch in 2015.

But as I said earlier. It was such a fun day, and having Julie, Cameron, Tony Berry and Kelvin Bell on the same target added to the laughter all day, and there was never a shortage of "Ribbing" going on.

I reckon Cam's 4 would have happened because he couldn't stop laughing.... :D

Well done Craig. Very impressive in that company.

Thanks Graham for posting the results and the dinner .1200 km, two motel stays for 36 shots must be crazy or just very addicted to F calss, great to see the smiling faces Tony B who allways makes an effort to say hello to newbys like me ,Beth C, who has a 47 barrel for the banard so watch out FO boys (can some one lighten her trigger down from 1000grm if required ) One high light for me was watching A bidgood smash the centre in TR scary to think what that man could do witha scope and a proper rest and David H winning the barrel .

I made a commitment to STOP buying new gear and spend more on fuel and motels so as to gain some match experience and Iam happy with the results ,and after the match a 5 times Queens winner said if " i need eny help give me a call" its hard to put a value on that .

The entire match was shot on a dirty barrel that has never seen a metal brush or any thing other than hoppes 9 and shot 600 rounds in just four months.Yes and I had taken you advice and tuned the power on my scope down ( to a level never before used ) hope to see you all at crows nest next year have a safe and happy xmas ,(time to clean the barrel )
