The normal 260AI FL bush die used as a sizer works for 7mm08AI with a 314 nk chamber. Unsure about larger nk diameters though. The Lee collet dies work great with the AI.

Graham you will need an Ackley Sizing die. Quick has a good suggestion using the Redding 260ai FL bushing die and I might do that myself. Early on I was able to get a Redding type S neck bushing die for the 7-08AI that I never use but these are also unobtainable at present. A Redding VLD seater stem with micrometer is also handy for the seater especially with compressed loads.

Hey Graham, have you considered a 280 AI chambering instead? Dale Tyler has one and it shoots Xs' only.

Actually that's what Rod D recommended and he's right as usual . See I have a stiller magnum actioned rifle so the plan is to go 7mm saum for my windy day rifle and the 708ai as the workhorse . If u notice in good conditions even the .308 can beat a . 284 w due to good shooter behind the butt. Look at Mark Fairb.... At the last city v country at Belmont . From memory he ( correct me if I'm wrong) beat some notable F open people . Cam has even told me don't go a medium cal. Go straight to a .284w and he's right too. He's my club mate and I respect his opinion !
This for me is a 4 year plan for if and when F standard is fazed out. Not planning to win so to speak but to more so learn . And I think the above cal fits the bill for it's long barrel life , lower recoil and it can shoot from 300 to 1000 and keep up if the shooter does their part in the wind reading side .
So I don't think I'll be too much of a threat ! Not much of a threat now lol!

Re: 7mm-08 Ai help
Actually one shooter comes to mind in that brilliant wind reading category and that's Gary H from Goondawindi . He shoots a .223 out to 1000 . He just won champ of champs against .308's and won ! A man after my own heart ! If u get a chance look at his scores on Qld rifle association web site ! It's impressive . Imagine if he was given a .284 win ? Scary !
Yep I know , getting of topic again !
